Turnin' Back Time weekend was a blast. Cruise night on Saturday had about 300 cars turn out for the show and with a 45 minute cruise around the local area for about 75 cars. A live band performed in downtown Sycamore to round out the evening.
Sunday's show had over 700 cars. We had to leave before awards were handed out, but we did email the car show organizer to find out how we dad. Their response....
Thanks for asking. You finished # 172 out of a total of 704. You were
one of 15 entrys that received 18 votes. The cut-off point for award winners
was 26 votes. All things considered, a good showing for the Corvair !!!!
Hope to see you somewhere soon !!! David <email@example.com>

For a second year, Cathy and Joe went to Oregon for their Fall festival and car show. While we didn't bring home a trophy this year, we had alot of fun walking through the craft fair and seeing all of the cars.

Last Geneva show for the season. Lot's of cars and a beautiful night. Unfortunately, the Corvair left us stranded with a bad fuel pump, but all is better now. Check out the size of the 1960 Cadillac convert compared to the Corvair. GM's biggest and GM's smallest!

Last Elgin McDonald's show for us this season. We won a trophy and had a nice evening.

Our local Culvers hosted the first local show that we attended. It was bigger than any show at Culvers last year.

The city of Oregon, IL had their Autumn on Parade celebration this weekend with a giant craft show in town and a car show across the river in the park. Nearly 200 cars were on display and Cathy's Corvair took a top 50 trophy based on judges voting. It was really a fun day but the pine needles ended up everywhere! As usual, there were a lot of stories from people that used to own a Corvair or had a friend that did. We were very proud.

Culver's had their last show of the season tonight and there was a good turnout.
July 30th, 2006
The Sycamore Car Show was not as big as expected due to the hot weather and some storms to the north. We had a little rain around 9am but then it dried up. There were about 500 cars this year. We had a great time and Cathy's Corvair received a lot of attention.

Cathy made it to this Culver's show. It was a lot of fun but the rain got us this time. Tim's yellow convert won a prize this show and Parker displayed it proudly.
June 6th, 2006
First Culver's show of the year. There was a good crowd that showed up that evening, even with a chance of showers. Cathy was at the ACS walk for life so she missed the show, but her car won one of the gas pump trophies seen on the table near her car.

The PCCA chapter of CORSA sponsored a show in Rochester, IL (near Springfield) for their members and anyone else that wanted to come by. We figured that this would be a good chance to get the car out for a road trip and show her off after the new paint job. There were about twenty cars entered, including a beautiful 1964 restored Spyder convertible, an all original 38,000 mile 4 door, and even a tow truck. Cathy's car won FIRST place in the people's choice awards!! Not bad for the first time out!

Cathy's Corvair entered the Sycamore "Turnin' Back Time" car show today. We had to get there very early to get a prime location on State street but it paid off when we saw Cathy's car on the front page of the Daily Chronicle the next day!!! Here is a link to the story : http://www.daily-chronicle.com/articles/2005/08/01/news/news02.txt
There were more than 800 cars entered but we only found two Corvairs.

We entered our first car show with the Corvair today. The restaurant "Culver's" puts on a small car show once a month during the summer. There were about 75-100 cars in attendance. The Corvair received alot of attention. A friend with a 1962 convertible parked next to us for the two Corvair show.
